Nicola

Nicola started ballet and tap dance classes at the age of 2, venturing into Ballroom, Latin, disco and Rock n Roll at age 3. Nicola just loved to dance and after a small taster of competing in Ballroom/Latin Medallist competitions at age 7 she began competing in the open circuit as a all girl couple. After bulding up her profile and becoming runner up in the Yorkshire championships which is unheard of for a all girl couple soon found a boy partner and began travelling the country most weekends competing, winning the Northern championship and becoming a finalist at champions of Tomorrow. Nicola started competing in Freestyle competitions at age 12, becoming a undefeated Slowdance champion. Nicola has now been teaching dance for 10 years but still loves to perform in professional shows and demonstrations with he dance partner Karl.

Andrew

Andrew began dancing at the age of 8 following in his sisters footsteps. Andrew had a very successful open competitive career in Ballroom, Latin and Old time both in the UK and abroad becoming a undefeated united kingdom junior Latin champion/ Scottish open Ballroom and Latin champion/North East Ballroom and Latin Champion. Andrew was part of the North East team competing in the origional ‘come dancing’ tv series. Andrew then decided to turn profesional as his ambition was to teach. He has now been qualified for 35 years. An examiner, lecturer and international adjudicator.

 

 

Karen

Karen unlike Andrew and Nicola, did not learn to dance as a child but at the age of 18, taking to dance with natural ability and ease. Karen worked hard and became qualified as a professional teacher moving from the North East to Leeds to teach along side her Husband. Karen has now been qualified for over 20 years. Teaching many styles of dance over the years from Line dancing, Salsa, Freestyle, Modern sequence to Ballroom and Latin. Karen is a former adjudicator.

 

The teachers at the dance centre are qualified with the U.K.A/I.D.T.A.

They have worked along side many radio and production teams such as the West Yorkshire playhouse, BBC and Yorkshire television. Teaching at many Primary Schools, High Schools, Leeds College of Arts and Leeds University. Coaching many T.V and football personalities.
